TRAVEL COMPANIONS HOLIDAYS organises several types of holidays:-

 

(1)  Foreign holidays around the world.  These are not organised as package holidays.  On these, accommodation only is organised.  No food or drink is included.  People going on the holidays arrange their own flights / transport, as suits them, from an airport of their own choice. Also, transfers are not included in the main price - but again, we will recommend what to do in order to make this easy for people.

 

(2)  Cruise & Tour Weekends to Brittany involving coach travel from South West England, ferry sea crossings, and either overnight cabins or overnight hotel accommodation.

 

(3)  Holidays and short breaks in the UK.  Sometimes these involve coach travel with a group.  Other times these involve people making their own travel arrangements.

 

(4)  Bespoke holidays - holidays arranged just for you - tell us what you want and we will give you a quote for you on your own or just for your group.  We can advise on the best places to visit, what to do, pitfalls to avoid, what to pack, and where to stay.  We can arrange holiday resort accommodation for you all around the world via our many contacts in the travel trade.  We can book a holiday for one single individual, for a couple, for a family, or for a group.  We have lots of ideas and suggestions, and we know some of the very best places - many of which you probably wouldn't find on your own! 

 

In line with our dedicated policy of fair trading and high standards of customer service, advice is available to help you book the holiday that suits you.

 

All holiday payments are protected by our separate Trust Account held at Lloyds TSB Bank in Bedford Square, Tavistock, Devon.

 

Everyone taking part on the holidays must take out their own travel insurance.  Annual travel insurance cover is recommended.  Everyone taking part on the holidays must have at least six months left on their passport.  Everyone taking part on the holidays must give their full name as it appears on their passport.  Date of birth, home address, and home telephone number are also required.  Plus, details of any significant medical problems.

 

TAKING PART ON THE HOLIDAYS

TRAVEL COMPANIONS HOLIDAYS are open to anyone resident in the U.K.  People are welcome to book for our holidays if they live in England, Wales, Scotland, or Ireland. Everyone is welcome to take part in our organised holidays.  Participants are required to be able to manage to take part in holidays under their own steam, to be able to cope with normal social situations, to be polite and well mannered, and to not be disruptive.  All ages are welcome.


The holidays are ideal for single people, as room-sharing can save hundreds of pounds and avoid single supplements, making the holidays good value for money.  Holiday prices are normally advertised on the basis of 2 people sharing a room together.  Single rooms are often available - separate prices will be quoted if this is an option.


Couples, families, and groups of friends, neighbours and work colleagues are also welcome.


Some organised holidays may be a small group of 2 - 12 people.  Other organised holidays may be a full coach of up to 54 people all travelling together.  We cannot guarantee a set number of people on any holiday.

Non-members and Ex-members of THE SOCIAL GROUP living in other parts of the UK are welcome to take part in our holidays for a small supplement of £25 which also includes 3 months temporary membership of THE SOCIAL GROUP and a current issue of Social Group Magazine posting out free of charge (worth £12).

HOW TO BOOK FOR HOLIDAYS

Payment should be paid by cheque, payable to “S.G.E. Ltd”.  Regrettably, we cannot take card payments for overseas holidays - although of course, you will be able to pay the travel agency for your flights by card. You are advised not to book your flights until we say so.


CUSTOMER SERVICE

SGE Ltd. operates a dedicated policy of fair trading.  We are committed to the very highest standards of customer service and all participants can expect a professional and caring approach.  If any participants wish to make known a concern, comment, or complaint, please let us know in a civilised, polite and calm manner, in a properly written letter, so that efforts can be made to find solutions.  


PHOTOGRAPHS

All participants give consent for organisers to take their photographs on the holidays and publish them on the web sites, in publicity material, and in Social Group Magazine at any time.  Which photographs are published is entirely at the discretion of SGE Ltd.  All particpants accept and agree with this.  S.G.E.Ltd. do not wish to display photographs which they feel would embarrass people.

 

All parties accept that all photographs taken by organisers at our social events are wholly the property and copyright of SGE Ltd.  All parties accept that it is illegal to download or copy images from the web sites or copy images Social Group Magazine without permission.  Anyone doing this is breaking copyright laws. 

 

SMOKE-FREE POLICY

The 2007 NO SMOKING LAW states that nobody is allowed to smoke in enclosed public places in the UK and many other countries are now introducing similar laws.  In accordance with this, for everyone’s comfort, all holidays are Smoke-Free.  Smoking is not permitted anywhere near other participants at anything we organise.  Anyone wishing to smoke should be kind enough to do so outdoors and well away from other participants.  We always try to book non-smoking rooms in hotels, as far as is possible.  On overseas group holidays, regardless of local laws, we have to be mindful that we could be sued for allowing people to smoke and inflict harm on others, so anyone smoking near other participants will be asked to leave the holiday and expected to make their own way home.     

 

DATA PROTECTION

In accordance with the Data Protection Act, personal details are kept safe and secure, and never passed onto third parties for marketing.  Information given is confidential and everyone can be assured of our discretion.  Contact names and telephone numbers can be disclosed to other participants travelling on the holiday in order to help people make contact in advance of the holiday and be able to sort out details such as travel arrangements.  Other personal details are never disclosed.

 

PRIVATE CONTRACTS

Participants must not interfere with S.G.E. Ltd. bookings and contracts.  It is illegal for participants to interfere with contracts made between S.G.E. Ltd. and other companies.  Participants must not contact hotels regarding booking contacts and arrangements made by S.G.E. Ltd.

 

CONDUCT

Participants are asked to respect local customs and standards of dress as well as local laws.  All participants must not to do anything which might sour the atmosphere, or which might damage the success of a holiday, or disrupt the running of a holiday, or insult or embarrass or abuse or assault the organisers, or bring parent company SGE Ltd. into disrepute or damage S.G.E. Ltd. in any way.  Anyone causing serious problems or offence may be asked to leave holiday accommodation and will be expected to make their own way home - if such occurs, participants are not entitled to any refund or compensation.     

 

CANCELLATION POLICY - CANCELLATION BY S.G.E. LTD.

We will give participants a refund if, when we receive a booking, a holiday is already full or sold out.  We will give participants a refund if S.G.E. Ltd. decide a holiday cannot go ahead.  If a holiday does not run, all participants accept they are not entitled to any additional compensation extra to a refund of what they have paid to S.G.E.Ltd.  Participants accept that there is no guarantee or promise that a holiday will have a minimum number taking part, or that a holiday will go ahead.  Participants accept that advertised holidays are offered subject to availability.  Participants accept that organisers have the right to cancel or make changes to holidays where necessary. S.G.E.Ltd. will not give a refund or compensation if we need to make reasonable changes to the details, times, location, or prices of a holiday - as we reserve the right to do so, where necessary.  Any necessary changes will not be made unreasonably.


Exceptions to above :  We will not give a refund if a holiday is disrupted, cancelled, or abandoned due to an ‘Act of God’ such as a natural disaster, severe bad weather, fire, storm, flood, or earthquake, or due to circumstances beyond our control such as death, injury, illness, power cuts, strikes, economic troubles, currency fluctuations, criminal acts, riots, war, or terrorism. 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY - CANCELLATION BY PARTICIPANTS

Notice of cancellation must be given in writing in a formal signed letter.  If participants decide not to take part in the holiday, or if they decide to cancel their place on the holiday, they accept they lose all monies paid to S.G.E. Ltd. and no refund or additional compensation is due.  All bookings are accepted on this basis. 


Outside of 6 weeks prior to the holiday, we will transfer your holiday booking to another suitable person, but participants must find this person, and a small admin charge will be due.  No transfers are possible within 6 weeks of the holiday taking place.

 

Participants agree to make sure they have adequate insurance cover in case they need to cancel their place on a holiday, which participants accept they will need to claim from if they decide they cannot take part.  Insurance should be in place within 14 days of the holiday being booked.  Annual travel insurance is advised. 

  

Where applicable, where participants have paid a deposit and do not pay the balance by the booking deadline, the booking is cancelled and any money paid is forfeit.


Anyone cancelling their place within 6 weeks of the holiday may be liable to a cancellation charge. 


Where holidays are booked on the basis of sharing a room, anyone pulling out and cancelling their own place agrees they are liable for any shortfall or costs the person they were supposed to be sharing with may incur as a result of their actions. Where holidays are booked on the basis of sharing a room, anyone pulling out and cancelling their own place agrees they are liable for any shortfall or costs S.G.E. Ltd may incur as a result of their actions. 

 

Terms & Conditions of S.G.E.Ltd. apply to all holidays.

 

DISCLAIMER

All participants recognise and accept that they participate at their own risk.  Participants are required to take out their own insurance as appropriate.  All participants agree that S.G.E.Ltd. is not liable for any unforeseen circumstances, accidents, injuries, weather, economic problems, exchange rate fluctuations, cancellations, changes and other such problems.  Participants are always advised to dress as appropriate for the climate.  S.G.E.Ltd. accept no liability for the behaviour of individuals.  S.G.E.Ltd. is not liable for participants negligence or disputes between participants.  Participants are required to be able to manage holidays under their own steam.  Participants accept responsibility for their own actions, behaviour and social etiquette.  

 

 

 

S.G.E. Ltd. Terms & Conditions do not affect your statutory rights, and operate in accordance with the law of England & Wales.
